What is the US ESTA?
The US ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is an online travel authorization for travelers visiting the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). It is required for travelers intending to stay in the United States for up to 90 days for purposes such as tourism, business, family visits, or transit.
Once approved, the ESTA is digitally linked to your passport and is valid for 2 years or until passport expiry, whichever comes first. No paper document is required.

Do I need an ESTA for the United States?
You need an ESTA if your passport was issued by a VWP country listed above, you plan to visit the USA for tourism, business, family visits, or transit, and your visit will last up to 90 days.
Group and family travel
Each traveler, regardless of age, must have their own ESTA — including infants and children. You may submit applications on behalf of others. Multiple applications for a family or travel group can be submitted in one session.
Are specific travel plans required?
No. If you do not yet have information about travel dates or your address in the USA, you may write “UNKNOWN” in the appropriate field. You can update this information at any time.
Do I need to visit the US Embassy?
No. The ESTA is completed entirely online and usually takes about 10 minutes. Once payment is completed, you will receive the result by email within a few hours (up to 72 hours). No appointment is required.
What if my ESTA is refused?
In the event of a government refusal, the government application fee is fully refunded. If your ESTA is refused, you will need to apply for a US non-immigrant visa through the US Embassy.
Is the application accepted in my language?
The ESTA is completed in your language without any problem. The border officer can read the authorization upon arrival. You will receive the official result in English.
